|
Surface Preparation |
All surfaces to receive BENTONIT P must be clean, dry, and free of foreign residues. All openings in floor panels must be patched or otherwise dammed prior to application. All dirt and dust must be thoroughly swept from floor area. Using BENTONIT PRIMER, dilute 1 to 1 with water, apply at the rate of 250 sq.ft. per gallon of primer. Wait until dry or tacky before underlayment application. |
| Mixing: |
Add approximately 5 to 5 1/2 quarts of water per bag of BENTONIT P and mix mechanically until thoroughly blended. |
| Application |
Pour BENTONIT P onto floor panels to a thickness between 1/8 and 1/2 inches. Application should be done in a continuous operation. The use of automatic mixing and pumping machines is recommended for large areas. |
| Precautions | Do not exceed 1/2 inch application thickness. Deeper areas should be pre-filled with a latex modified patching material. Do not apply if temperature is expected to drop below 400F within 24 hours of application. The mixed material should not exceed 800F. In hot weather, use cold water and keep material in a shaded area prior to use. All coverings should remain in place one week after application. |
| Drying Time | Depending on temperature and humidity, BENTONIT P dries in 16 to 30 hours and is ready for floor covering within 1 to 2 weeks. |
| Cleaning | After use, rinse with water. |
