BITUMANE W

Bituminous Waterproofing Coating

BITUMANE W is a highly rubberized asphalt emulsion that provides excellent resistance to water infiltration in below grade autoclaved aerated concrete applications.

Surface
Preparation All bases to receive BITUMANE W must be clean, and free of grease, oil, dirt, paint, or other foreign residues. Patch all damaged areas prior to coating.

Mixing: No thinning required.

Application Apply by heavy brush, light trowel, or low pressure airless sprayer. Fill in all crevices and grooves making sure the coating is continuous with no pinholes or breaks. Carry coating over outside edge of footing. Thoroughly fill in all corners, chases, reveals, etc. Apply the coating to finished grade.

Do not place backfill for at least 48 hours after application, but place backfill within 7 days. Backfill must be placed in a manner that will not damage or rupture the coating.

Precautions Aeration of the product, which can cause air bubbles that can affect water transmission, must be avoided during application. Do not apply if rain or frost is possible within 24 hours of application. Apply only when temperatures are expected to be above 50⁰F within 12 hours of application.

Drying Time Actual drying depends on temperature and humidity, but usually dries within 6 to 12 hours.

Cleaning Cleanup with water while product is still wet.

Coloring Black

Package Size 5 gallons and 55 gallons

Coverage for waterproofing:
1 gallon covers 25 sq.ft.
for dampproofing:
1 gallon covers 65 sq.ft.

Storage Under cool shaded conditions, product storage life is one year from manufacture.
