| Lightweight Interior Plaster |
GYPSPRAY® is a premixed, one coat, gypsum plaster that can be applied to autoclaved aerated concrete, gypsum board, concrete block, cement plasters or other concrete products. GYPSPRAYâ is especially designed for spray equipment to achieve higher productivity and lower installation costs.
| Advantages |
GYPSPRAYâ contains a proprietary blend of chemicals and aggregates which
enables the user to obtain a smooth, one application finish over most surfaces. GYPSPRAYâ can be applied and finished in one coat with applications thickness ranging from 1/8 inch to 1 inch. GYPSPRAYâ is polymer modified for increased bonding, flexibility, and reduced cracking. |
|
Surface Preparation |
All bases to receive GYPSPRAYâ must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dirt, paint, and any foreign residues. |
| Mixing | Mix one 55 pound bag with approximately 4 - 4 1/2 gallons of clean water for 5 minutes in batch mixing. For continuous mixing machines, set water demand to 400-500 liters/hour. The mixed material will remain workable for one to two hours. |
| Application |
Over blocks of good tolerance, 3/16 to 1/4 inch minimum thickness of
GYPSPRAYâ should be applied to achieve a flat surface. Increased thickness is
necessary for walls that are severely out of plumb or damaged. Trowel or spray the
material to the necessary thickness and within 15 minutes of application, smooth and level
the wall with a plastering straightedge (first ruling). After 45 minutes to 1 hour, smooth the wall again to provide a very flat and level surface with a minimum of imperfections and unevenness (second ruling). Approximately 2 hours after initial mixing, sponge float the plaster surface with a liberal amount of water and smooth the resultant paste with a stainless steel finishing trowel. Repeat this process once more after 20 more minutes (the material should be set at this time). If small blisters form during the last sponge float and trowel finish, then further setting of the plaster is necessary before the plaster can be finished smooth. One sponge float and trowel finish may be acceptable if a textured finish is to be applied over the plaster. Over panels and very flat surfaces that only need smoothing, GYPSPRAYâ may be applied at 1/8 to 3/16 inches. For these thin coats, use a plastering trowel instead of a long plastering straightedge to straighten and level the walls. Finish the walls as instructed above. |
| Drying Time | Depending on thickness and ambient conditions, drying time is 2 - 7 days. |
| Cleaning | Clean tools with water. Protect glass, metal, stone, brick, and other area from contact with plaster. |
