ACRYL SP

Highly Impermeable Interior Coating for Autoclaved Aerated Concrete


ACRYL SP is a solvent based, acrylic coating designed to provide an impermeable interior surface over AAC panels. As a result, application of ACRYL SP protects the AAC panels from high levels of water and chemical vapors inherent in industrial operations.

    Specify for coating autoclaved aerated concrete for interior surfaces.

    Specify for coating concrete or masonry interior surfaces.

    Specify for above grade application.

    DO NOT specify for coating below grade.

    DO NOT specify for coating metal, glass, plastic, or wood.


PART 1 GENERAL

Submittals

  • Product Data: Submit manufacturers technical information and installation
        instructions for materials required.
  • Samples: Submit for review, sample of texture. Submit for review,
        sample of color (color chart).

    Quality Assurance

  • Provide all coatings, adhesives, and sealants from one source.
  • Provide job site mock-up sample (2 ft. X 2 ft.) showing texture and color.
  • Sample to be accepted by architect/engineer prior to starting work.
  • Remove sample when directed by architect/engineer.

    Delivery, Storage and Handling

  • Deliver and store packaged material in original containers, unopened.
        Prevent damage to materials from water, freezing, or other causes.
  • Provide heated and dry storage conditions for materials at site.
  • Remove unused materials and waste from project site.

    Project Conditions

  • Maintain environmental conditions and protect work during and after
        installation and comply with manufacturer's printed instructions.
  • Maintain temperatures at not less than 400 F for a minimum of 48 hours after installation.
  • Do not apply to frozen surfaces or surfaces containing frost.
  • Do not apply when ambient temperature is above 1100 F.

    PART 2 PRODUCTS

    Materials

  • When specifying ACRYL SP over old panel surfaces, select ACRYL PRIME
        as a primer prior to ACRYL SP application.

    Coatings

  • ACRYL M, (color)_________________________ , as manufactured by
        Elite Cement Products, Inc.
  • ACRYL PRIME as manufactured by Elite Cement Products, Inc.
  • Use accessories as specified by manufacturer.

    Mixes

  • Mix coating according to manufacturer's written instructions.

    PART 3 EXECUTION

    Inspection

  • Verify substrate surface is ready to receive installation of work.
  • Verify that surfaces are free of dust, loose particles, oil, or other
        foreign materials.
  • Do not proceed with work until surfaces and conditions comply
        with manufacturer's requirements.

    Preparation

  • Prepare substrate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

    Installation

  • Install coating in accordance with manufacturer's printed instructions.
  • No American standards for coatings on autoclaved aerated concrete
        exist at this time.

    Protection

  • Protect surface from damage or contamination from foreign materials.
  • Maintain protection until completion of work.

    Cleaning

  • Remove product and protective materials from job site.
