Reinforcing Fiberglass Mesh


GLASS FABRIC 32 is a flexible, coated fiberglass mesh used to reinforce polymer/cementitious basecoats over foam. Its flexibility makes it ideal for working on detailed trim pieces. GLASS FABRIC 33 is a coated fiberglass mesh used to reinforce LITEWALL®, or other cement plaster, when applied over dissimilar substrates or other areas subject to stress. Its large matrix allows larger aggregates.

    Specify for reinforcing coatings over Autoclaved Areated Concrete for exterior or interior surfaces. Specify for reinforcing coatings over concrete or masonry exterior and interior surfaces.


PART 1 GENERAL

Submittals

  • Product Data: Submit manufacturers technical information and installation instructions for materials required.

    Quality Assurance

  • Provide all coatings, adhesives, and sealants from one source.

    Delivery, Storage and Handling

  • Deliver and store packaged material in original containers, unopened.
        Prevent damage to materials from water or other causes.
  • Provide dry storage conditions for materials at site.
  • Remove unused materials and waste from project site.

    Project Conditions

  • Maintain environmental conditions and protect work during and after
        installation and comply with manufacturer's printed instructions.
  • Maintain temperatures at not less than 400 F for a minimum of 48 hours after installation.

    PART 2 PRODUCTS

    Materials

  • When specifying GLASS FABRIC 33 or 32 to reinforce basecoats, select the appropriate coating from the same manufacturer.

    Accessories

  • GLASS FABRIC 33, as manufactured by Elite Cement Products, Inc.
  • GLASS FABRIC 32, as manufactured by Elite Cement Products, Inc.
  • Use other accessories as specified by manufacturer.

    PART 3 EXECUTION

    Inspection

  • Verify substrate surface is ready to receive installation of work.
  • Verify that surfaces are free of dust, loose particles, oil, or other
        foreign materials.
  • Do not proceed with work until surfaces and conditions comply
        with manufacturer's requirements.

    Preparations

  • Prepare substrate in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

    Installation

  • Install mesh in accordance with manufacturer’s printed instructions.
  • No American standards for reinforcing mesh for coatings on autoclaved aerated concrete exist at this time.

    Protection

  • Protect surface from damage or contamination from foreign materials.
  • Maintain protection until completion of work.

    Cleaning
  • Remove product and protective materials from job site.
