MINERTEX is a decorative, mineral based, wall texture applied over cement base coats to provide a weatherproof, water repellent surface. MINERTEX is characterized by extremely high vapor permeability and therefore provides high bonding capability even under high vapor conditions. MINERTEX coatings are not thermoplastic and are therefore highly resistant to dirt pickup.

MINERTEX-R has a 3 mm aggregate which, when floated, produces a "grooved" finish texture.
MINERTEX-P has a 3 mm aggregate which, when floated, produces a pebbled finish texture.

Specify for coating previously plastered autoclaved aerated concrete for exterior or interior surfaces.

Specify for coating previously plastered concrete or masonry exterior and interior surfaces.

Specify for above grade application.

DO NOT specify for coating below grade.

DO NOT specify for coating metal, glass, plastic, or wood.

PART 1 GENERAL

Submittals

Product Data: Submit manufacturers technical information and installation
    instructions for materials required.

Samples: Submit for review, sample of texture. Submit for review,
    sample of color (color chart).

Quality Assurance

Provide all coatings, adhesives, and sealants from one source.

Provide job site mock-up sample (2 ft. X 2 ft.) showing texture and color.

Sample to be accepted by architect/engineer prior to starting work.

Remove sample when directed by architect/engineer.

Delivery, Storage and Handling

Deliver and store packaged material in original containers, unopened.
    Prevent damage to materials from water, freezing, or other causes.

Provide heated and dry storage conditions for materials at site.

Remove unused materials and waste from project site.

Project Conditions

Maintain environmental conditions and protect work during and after
    installation and comply with manufacturer's printed instructions.

Maintain temperatures at not less than 40⁰ F for a minimum of 48 hours after installation.

Do not apply to frozen surfaces or surfaces containing frost.

Do not apply when ambient temperature is above 110⁰ F.

Protect finish from excessive evaporation during hot, windy, or dry conditions by pre-wetting substrate.

PART 3 EXECUTION

Inspection

Verify substrate surface is ready to receive installation of work.

Verify that surfaces are free of dust, loose particles, oil, or other
    foreign materials.

Do not proceed with work until surfaces and conditions comply
    with manufacturer's requirements.

Preparation

Prepare substrate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

Installation

Install coating in accordance with manufacturer's printed instructions.

No American standards for coatings on autoclaved aerated concrete
    exist at this time.

Protection

Protect surface from damage or contamination from foreign materials.

Maintain protection until completion of work.

Cleaning

Remove product and protective materials from job site.
